Chaska Electric has brought back its solar rebate program for another year. Read more to see if you could qualify.
With incentives from both local and federal levels, now is a great time to plan for a solar installation to maximize your savings if you are a City of Chaska Electric user.
If you are a residential City of Chaska Electric user, you could qualify for a solar panel rebate. Qualifying solar panel systems could earn $250 per AC kW installed, up to $2,500. The utility has $500,000 of funding for the year and grants rebates on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested in this program, it’s best to act quickly before funds are drained.
Chaska Electric requires that your application for the rebate is submitted within one year of your equipment invoice and that your interconnection agreement must be approved by the City of Chaska Electrical Department.
While this rebate is only available for residential properties, commercial buildings have other opportunities. MinnPACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) offers financing solutions for businesses that want to go solar or make energy-efficient upgrades to their facilities.
In addition to this rebate, you can apply for a 30 percent tax credit on your solar panel system. This is thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) which passed last year. Without this, the incentive would have dropped to 22 percent in 2023.
