All Energy Solar Expands into Larger Saint Paul Headquarters

As energy consumers turn to clean, affordable solar power, St. Paul-based solar installers with six-state reach raise hiring and installation targets for upcoming year

ST. PAUL, MINN. —May 8, 2019— All Energy Solar, a St. Paul-based company that designs, installs and monitors solar power systems for homes and businesses in six states, moved to a larger location April 29. The expanded space, at 1264 Energy Lane, will allow the company to keep its headquarters in St. Paul during a time of tremendous growth. Driven by high consumer interest in solar power, All Energy Solar is raising installation targets for the coming year and increasing hiring.

“We’re proud to have built our business in Minnesota, becoming part of this strong new economic sector based on environmentally friendly renewable energy,” said Michael Allen, president and co-owner of All Energy Solar. “Keeping our headquarters local lets us look forward to hiring even more members of our community as we grow. And with Governor Walz sending a clear message of support to the green economy by calling for statewide carbon-free energy by 2050, solar awareness will rise even higher.”

“’Solar panel installer’ was Minnesota’s fastest-growing job last year, with an eight percent growth over the previous year — believe me, the solar industry is in the midst of a hiring boom. All Energy has reached an incredible point as leaders in clean energy conversions, with customer installations up 283 percent over the last three years,” said Allen. “Last year we brought solar to more than 700 buildings —including homes, businesses, farms, government offices, churches, and schools. This year, we’re setting our sights higher, and aiming to put solar arrays on 1000 properties. The American energyconsumer has always wanted the most stable, low-cost power source possible, and innovations in technology mean solar power is perfect for this moment.”

All Energy Solar has increased its employee count by 20 percent this year, and plans on bringing aboard more than 15 new hires after the move, from electricians to installers to sales people. As the job market continues to change in response to automation and globalization, solar installer jobs are part of a new, highly-desirable class of outsource-proof employment. All Energy Solar several years ago began an in-house apprenticeship program for installers interested in training for higher-paying, higher-skilled work as journeyman electricians. This year, two employees will have accumulated enough hours to make the transition; next year, six are on track for the same advancement. The company is also developing accreditation classes so its electricians can meet continuing education requirements with more convenience.

The company’s old headquarters was located at 1642 Carroll Ave. in St. Paul The new 30,000 square ft. building is just a few miles away at 1264 Energy Lane, St. Paul.

All Energy Solar is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, and serves customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Hampshire, New York, and Massachusetts.
